Jacksonville Beach Shooting Video Goes Viral: One Killed, Three Injured

The Jacksonville Beach shooting incident has recently gone viral all over social media. In the wake of this, after the shooting incident broke out, three people were injured and one person was killed, reports CNN.

The shooting occurred on March 17, Sunday in the downtown area of Jacksonville Beach, Florida. Thus, police officials requested the people to take shelter.

Raws Alerts shared a Jacksonville beach shooting video on X, formerly Twitter which featured petrified beachgoers rushing for cover as gunshots could be heard from a distant area.

The Jacksonville Beach Police Department stated on Facebook,

“The Jacksonville Beach Police Department is currently working on an active shooter incident in our downtown area. This is an active scene and we are asking everyone to shelter in place at this time. If you have any information that can assist us, please call 904-270-1661. We will update with further information as soon as possible.”

According to ABC News, the authorities are asked by the Jacksonville Beach Police Department to look for multiple shooters involved in the incident. Moreover, the police have announced that the area in question will be shut down until further notice.

The department took to X, formerly Twitter, some hours later and said,

“Officers are still working the scene but the shelter-in-place has been lifted”.

When the incident broke out, hundreds of people who were commemorating St. Patrick’s Day heard around 10 gunshots and rushed to escape the terror. They ran towards the beach.

The Jacksonville Beach Police along with Sergeant Tonya Tator stated that authorities are in search of suspects.

Tator said,

“If anyone knows or sees anything, they are asked to call the Jacksonville Beach Police Department.”

She confirmed to the reporters that the shooting didn’t happen inside a bar, but rather ‘out in the open.’

Multiple Media reports stated that all restaurants and bars were asked to remain closed. Notably, the population of Jacksonville Beach is around 23,830.

Two people who got injuries are now in stable condition.

Moreover, law enforcement officials across Florida have been asked to stay on high alert.

The gender, age, and identities of the victims in the shooting are not been disclosed yet.
