A terrifying incident has sent shockwaves across the globe where a brother and father strangulated their daughter to cover up their disturbing sexual assaults that led to unwanted pregnancy. The murder took place in Toba Tek Singh city in the Pakistani province of Punjab.
Furthermore, the alleged murder has been captured on camera and is currently going viral on the internet. In the clip, a man can be seen strangling the girl lying on a bed while other members of the family present at the scene including the victim’s father and sister-in-law.
The Toba Tek Singh tragedy shocks the world
According to Free Press Journal, the incident occurred around midnight on 18 or 17 March. Later, the body of the victim was buried by the culprits. On 24 March FIR was registered that led to the arrest of two men.
The video was made by Shehbaz, one of the brother’s of Maria and he was the one who informed the police about the case.
Currently, both the brothers and the father are taken into police custody based on Saddar police sub-inspector Ahmad Raza.
Recently, the body of the victim was exhumed for further forensic analysis. A postmortem examination was done on her body later sent to Punjab Forensic Lab for further investigation.
DPO Ibadat Nisar stated in front of the media that the victim’s father Abdul Sattar and her brother Faisal used to sexually molest her. They decide to kill her after finding out she is pregnant.
During the investigation, it was revealed that Faisal had threatened to kill his wife and his kids if she helped the police in their investigation.
Massive protests are going on in the city of Toba Tek Singh for justice while targeting police as they responded to the FIR belatedly.
